Anne-Sophie Mutter is universally considered to be one of the greatest violinists of modern times. Her stunning and multi-faceted music-making extends across masterworks from the full breadth of the violin repertoire.
This autumn she brings out a new album, presenting a selection of highlights from her discography. See the track list below.
Anne-Sophie Mutter’s commitment to the future of string playing is exemplified by both her wholehearted championship of contemporary music, where many composers have composed new works specifically for her, and by her charitable support for the development of new professional string players, which dates to the founding of her first trust in 1987.
With the rise of social media Anne-Sophie’s direct communication to her fans has become a personal commitment. This exciting competition is proof positive of the high esteem in which Anne-Sophie Mutter holds her fans and represents her wish now to experiment in working together with them.

We are delighted to announce a special album cover competition for fans of Anne-Sophie Mutter to join her in the creation process of her new album, to be released this autumn.
Deutsche Grammophon in cooperation with 99designs are looking for a cover illustration for this new album that should incorporate the following title, subtitle and attached DG logo, and may (but is not obliged to) use the attached photo (copyright: Bastian Achard) in so far as a photo of Anne-Sophie Mutter is to be part of your design.

Title: Mutterissimo
Subtitle: The Art of Anne-Sophie Mutter
The words “Mutterissimo” and “The Art of Anne-Sophie Mutter” can be designed and interpreted as you prefer, whereby "Mutterissimo" as the title should be especially eye-catching.
We are searching for the best and most innovative approach to capture the feeling for the art of Anne-Sophie Mutter.
The winning design will be chosen by Anne-Sophie Mutter personally.

Other notes
This is an illustration contest, therefore only original ideas will be considered. Any third party design elements are not allowed in the contest.
The format of the cover is 120,5mm x 119,5mm.
The graphic will later be adapted to the specific needs of different communication channels, especially social media (e.g. Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.).
The contest runs from 15th - 5th September, 2016. Expect the winner to be selected in the following week.

Dear Designers,
Anne-Sophie Mutter is thrilled with the designs so far. She noted many wonderful classical designs; at the same time significantly fewer experimental ones. So she asks that further entries to the contest concentrate on being experimental and "out of the box".
So for the last few days Anne-Sophie Mutter encourages you all to throw caution to the wind and concentrate your creativity on what she WOULDN'T EXPECT! :-)
