Entertainment & The Arts
We interview successful startup founders in the three Maritime provinces of Canada (Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island). The mission behind our project is to show that it's possible to build a technology startup on the East Coast of Canada, and that you don't need to leave to Silicon Valley or another "startup hub" to do so. The purpose of our interviews is to help inspire or "ignite" the local startup community. We hope that by hearing the stories of founders who are having success here at home, entrepreneurs will see what's possible and be inspired to start a startup of their own. The target audience is technology entrepreneurs of all ages, but most likely viewers will be between the ages of 18-35. We will be posting our interviews, or mini-documentaries, on our website, IgniteTheMaritimes.com. We plan on publishing one new episode every month. These videos will be a web series only, not a podcast, TV show, etc. The videos are between 10-20 minutes in length.
IgniteTheMaritimes.com (no content yet - just own the domain)
Please see attached website mockup as a rough look/feel of how I'd like the website's design to look (please disregard colors - just look at structure and layout). I'd like to have a large hero image at the top of the homepage. And I'd like the color scheme to match the logo/branding (see attached). We want the website to do the same thing as the videos: inspire and ignite the Maritime entrepreneurial community. Our interviews are purely focused on the Maritime provinces, not all of Canada.
The homepage will have the hero/banner image, and "about" us section, as well as the the videos. The homepage should also have an email collection box. The goal of the homepage is to encourage email signups as well as highlighting the videos. The about us page will have a more detailed mission statement as well as 3 head shots of the team members (David, Michel, and Julie) + a bio of each team member.
What to avoid
I will have website copy done by the time the final round of designs is ready.
It was hard to find examples of sites doing something similar that I enjoy - please don't take my examples too seriously! Website should be responsive. The videos won't be in categories or in seasons. They'll be just listed by episode number, i.e "Episode 1", "Episode 2", etc ..
