We are pioneering Smart Data to enable our customers to make Smart Decisions
Be modern, creative, playful yet serious.
At Bisnode, we have tons of data describing the current situation of gender quality in Swedish companies. Help us build a website visualizing the data in awesome, yet insightful way. We'd like a web site with creative widgets/graphs/statistics, each of them providing the user with new, unexpected insights into the gender equality situation in Sweden. Specifically, we'd like you to design three widgets/graphs/statistics and also to create one innovative widget of your own that you believe is particular useful and insightful. The widgets/graphs/statistics, as illustrated in the attached file, are: 1. Time machine. Assume a user has selected a company or a region in Sweden. Further assume it has a majority of men on the board of directors. Then the company (region) be be considered old-fashioned and be of vintage, say, 1976. Here we want a playful illustration of a particular year. It might be a picture, a song, the person who won Wimbledon or whatever. Make people smile. 2. Chart. Country map showing gender equality. Assume we have the data and work on how to illustrate gender equality of regions and cities in a surpricing and insightful way. Highlight locations and contrasts if you can (e.g. the "best" and the "worst" in the country, or pick one city illustrating the typical "average" ). Is it a heat map or something elese? Your choice! 3. Map. What is the average number of women on the board of directors in this region right now? Is there any industries in this region performing better than others in terms of gender equiality? Which industries/companies are moving fastest into equality based on last year and this year? 4. Get creative!

Assume you are an journalist and want to find something unexpected about gender equality and write an article. What would the site look like for you as a journalist to search for, and find, the relevant information? Don’t just copy the proposals in the brief, but make up the illustrations and visualisations you think are most useful. The competition is just as much an innovation contest as a design contest. Be creative. Here are an inspiration, but remember it’s just an inspiration. http://datatopics.worldbank.org/gender/region/europe-and-central-asia
