Progressive rock has been around since the the mid 60-ies with a peak in 1969-1972 with great bands like Yes, King Crimson, Pink Floyd, ELP, Genesis. We need a website that matches our stuff so potential listeners and fans will enjoy hanging at our site. We do HTML as a second nature, but even as we to a limited extent are craftsmen in the graphic design department (Photoshop, Illustrator), we need some new thoughts in regards to the look 'n feel of our site. We have quite a lot of images, text and video snippets - some fun, some corny and some that but a few would enjoy. We want to celebrate life in the most serious way possible, yet we want it to be fun along the way. Therefore, numerous detail is in favor although not required to win this design contest.
We need a design for the front page, in Photoshop format, with layers intact (not flattened).
We have a "recording blog" at http:/lullabyforheroes.blogspot.com that might give some inspiration. Our old home page is replaced with a single jpeg at the moment http://www.mazeoftime.com, which is identical with the album cover of our last CD "Tales from the Maze".
And even as we're not actually professional musicians - all of us have other day jobs, families et cetera. Nevertheless, we sure would like to look like one here on the internet, and we sincerely love what we do and people from all over are looking forward to our new album.
Interested designers can download bitmap artwork made by our in-house artist. Note: these images are heavily copyrighted and you regretfully won't be able to use them in other contexts even though many of them look really wonderful and unique if you ask us. They need to be in there, but rather one or two than all of them.
Our page in CD Baby with track previews and a lenghty interview with the band for a Progressive rock magazine: http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/mazeoftime
Our logo in variations (tales from the maze was the name of our last album, and not part of the actual logotype)
