We need an American Sports themed website (American Football, Cheerleading, Soccer, Ice Hockey, baseball, etc.).
This is a new website that's currently under development. It's built on Ruby on Rails, and uses Haml, Sass, Sassy Modular Scale, etc.
Below is a design mock-up for the site, which is shown only to illustrate some of the core things we'd like:
And here's a detailed view:
Logo
Current user / access to user account, profile, etc.
Navigation to main features
Main tagline for the site
Small text blurb about the product
Rotating sports related image
List of recent news
List of recent education material (may be downloadable files in multiple formats, or links to internal/external pages)
Navigation to secondary features (contact us, faq, etc.)
Parts of the design above have been inspired by the visual design pattern found in sites such as Mint.com:
Note that we also want the "Watch the video" link that launches an overlay with a video player. As for the big image on the right side, we'd like american sports related images to alternate like a slide show, sort of what can be seen on this site:
Ideally, an image would appear total in opacity, and then start to become transparent, as some words about our product show up, then the words fade out, another opaque image shows up, and the cycles continues.
We need visual design work done for two main things:
1. A very strong landing page (containing the items listed above)
2. Elements to be used internal pages (once users are "members" of the site who are signed in, they're taken directly to their respective "dashboards", where they spend most of their time doing their work).
For item #2, the main design remains the same. What we need are the main elements that'll be used within the main area of the site:
By "main elements" we mean buttons, text boxes, styles for "flash" messages, styles for "validations" (required fields and such), links, tables, etc.
Having the haml and sass styles delivered "ready for use" is very important.
We have the design for our logo. Designer files can be downloaded here.
Please feel free to create the best design you can think of as far as color palette and everything (make sure to choose colors that look "sportsy").
We'd also like some sort of background such as the one found here: http://www.reactel.com/
We're thinking maybe the texture in that background could look something like an american football jersey's texture:
or an american football pigskin texture:
The users will be school kids from 13 - 18yrs, school coaches and medical professionals.
