How Jonathan20031014 started their web page design journey
Who are you known as?
It Gets Brighter
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
It Gets Brighter is similar to ItGetsBetter.org but for mental
illness. The target audience is roughly 16-25 year olds.
We prefer the design of ted.com to itGetsBetter, so we would like the
videos to be at the top.
The design needs to evoke the clear image/video-sharing focus, while
keeping a clean, minimal feel.
We are keen to avoid the slightly corporate tone of mental health
websites such as http://www.mindyourhead.org.uk. It needs to engage
users and inspire them to become a part of the campaign, while
how to do so.
We want the functionality of the site
(watch/share/upload a video) to direct the design.
Find attached a sketch.
Tagline: "Be part of the generation that cares."
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
Community & Non-Profit
What do you have in mind for the style and theme of the web page?
We need a design that is slightly edgy. The following websites we
http://www.ted.com - video display and filter function engage user
immediately, with further sections displayed clearly below; menu
headers make the function of the site is intuitive
Homepage: We want 5 or 6 featured videos to be displayed prominently
in still frames with titles. These would be in different sizes. (eg.
like http://www.ted.com), with one large video still surrounded by
others in medium and small sizes. Above/next to this, we want a
menu to search the videos by category. We would like a ‘Search
box’ to be prominent. We would also like a ‘Share Your Story’
button which takes users to that page.
We then need an interior page that will be used for various sections
of the site including team, contact, share, etc..
What to avoid
The site should be mobile friendly.
There has been a struggle picking a logo for this project, so what we
have opted to do is provide all the logos designed. Alternatively you
can use just text.
