The Hustle is a daily email newsletter that delivers the most impactful business and tech news -- trusted by over 1 million readers. Our target audience is 55% men // 45% women, age 24-55, who identify as Curious, Early Adopter, Ambitious and Entrepreneurial.
Typography: We tend to have a simple, retro aesthetic. Easy to read with understated design. Our typefaces include: Courier New (display), Lato (san-serif for body text), Droid Serif (serif for italic emphasis). Keep the colors MINIMUM (ideally black and white). But if you'd like accent colors (do so sparingly): #ED4D1F #ED8F1F #1B6B96 #16A85A #394245 These are common colors we’ve used for primary and secondary calls to actions (e.g., hyperlinks, buttons, accent colors). 95% of our content is strictly black and white with only minimal color. That makes photos and CTAs “pop” off the screen while retaining a newspaper look and feel.
Our goal is to capture email signups. No hyperlinks or other CTA's on the page. Let's feature an image of our newsletter on an iPhone. Let's highlight reader testimonials. The page can differentiate Daily Briefs vs Sunday Story. Or maybe not. Please DO NOT copy our existing page design. Please reference the copy on our existing page.
