Spiderweb Logic got their new web page design by running a design contest:
Create the next website design for Treasures Antique Mall
Check out Spiderweb Logic's Web page design contest…
This is to promote our store in Morro Bay, selling antiques knick knacks, and collectibles. Target audience: males/females 22-69 - mostly those in San Luis Obispo county in California USA. Different vendors rent sections of the store. They each bring in their own collectibles - from jewelry, specialty knives, to collectible pottery, to books to kitchen stuff to antique furniture. It has something for everyone because of this unique variety.
I only need two pages designed - home and furniture (a sample back page) - as a template for the rest of the site. Once I have this, I can build the rest of the site as I want. Please pull product displays from any antique furniture site. http://mkfurnishings.com/ will do. It is only placeholders so we can get a feel for the look. They will not be used in actual production. Display should be in a grid - format similar to how this is displayed: http://antiquearchaeology.ras.bustores.com/ Initially, have the following links in the main menu: Home Furniture Knick Knacks Pictures Jewelry Location / Directions Contact Us Vendor Login This should have a "search" textbox/button on it. FONTS: For most of the page, stick with fonts listed here: http://www.ampsoft.net/webdesign-l/WindowsMacFonts.html If used in an image, its ok. But for regular text - that may change - we need to stick with basic fonts. The "h1" can use a special font if needed. If used, it must be commonly available for $50 or less. I dont want to purchase more than one special font for use on this site.
What to avoid
Not too busy. Not dark. No busy gradients. Do not incorporate products into the banner. The products change so frequently, it wont work. Not too much blue. Many of the antique sites I have seen use a strong blue theme. I don't like it for this type of site. Look at the banner for color inspiration.
