Bay Audiology needs a new website design

C4's Intranet, Orange Intranet (see google search for examples) Kurt Geiger has a good intranet.

For our Company Intranet, we are looking to re-design the home page to make it more current. Ideas do not need to be Bay specific, we are not needing to draw on the current colour scheme of the Bay branding. Our current site has been Blue for a few years and we need to change it up. We are looking for a more engaging site, that is visually appealing without the 'corporate' design features.

The document attached shows a Functional Mock Up and a Design Mock Up. The functional mock up highlights what we need on the homepage, but we prefer to concept of the Design mock up. Annotations are provided where necessary on each image. Stay away from rigid looking designs, think more vibrant, make sections pop, straight lines not necessary. The functional mock-up looks to harsh - too many boxey type sections. Stay away from Green. Think Magazine, not Newspaper style. A brand mascot would be ideal but not required for the job. The key functionality is in the Functional Mock Up design image in the document attached. This has been annotated for your convenience. We want to try and have the menu listed down the left hand side, and not across the top - but it may be a good idea to show designs with both options. This is for internal company use only. The brand's 'Shell' Logo should be incorporated somewhere into the design but minimally (see functional mock up). Take inspriation from the Design Mock Up image - we want colour without it being too busy. The intranet is hosted by an outsourced provider. We must continue to use their product - the homepage will be virtually automated drawing from content from information we plug in through a wizard. Do not worry about the content of each section and how it is managed - this has all been confirmed. This exercise is to highlight the design only.
