Paul McCormick got their new signage by running a design contest:
Long Island Oysters Bumper Sticker-Banner
Check out Paul McCormick's Signage contest…
We represent Long Island's oyster growers. Our target audience is individual consumers, restaurants, markets, and distributors, as well as the general public.
What's your vision?
Please create bumper sticker/banner modeled after attached "Sketch for Bumper Sticker-Banner." No need to incorporate word salad into image. A simple map outline of Long Island, New York bifurcated by "LONG ISLAND OYSTERS" will do. "Eat" can have Highway sign look, or experiment by enclosing it in outline of an oyster. Feel free to experiment with different fonts for "LONG ISLAND OYSTERS," tag line, and "Eat." The "LIOGA" logo at bottom right of bumper-banner sketch (to the right of tag line), however, should be created exactly as shown (Use Sakkal Majalla font. Background oyster image will have to be rendered from scratch, as that appearing in logo sketch is copyrighted.)

It all began with a design brief.
A quick, interactive guide helped them understand their design style and captured exactly what they needed in their signage.
