The Mad Raven is a dark fantasy novel. I wanted a simple yet gritty and aggressive cover for this to convey the mood of the novel.

The Mad Raven of the title is a mythical figure whose followers wear animal heads into battle to intimidate their opponents. I wanted the cover to only have the symbol of the raven some sort of haraldic shield of the title character.
