the product is a heavy duty professional grade brown utility sponge. It comes in 2 sizes 3" x 5" x 2" thick and 3" x 5" x 1" thick and the jumbo is "8.5" x 4.5" x 1.5" thick. The sponge is targeted for the home improvement / hardware store market. It is a sponge that will last a very long time and be durable. It has numerous applications, household (kitchens; counters, stovetops,/bathrooms), commercial kitchens/restaurants, contracting (floor grouting, painting), auto, boat, truck, rv, motorcycle, schools, hospitals, janitorial. The sponge also absorbs and increases in size by approximately 50%. The sponge does not contain any soap or solution. It can be uses dry or with any type of soap or cleaning solution.

I want something that will appeal to the home improvement buyer/hardware store buyer as well as a value minded housewife who wants to buy a solid durable useful product for a great price. 85% of all sponges are made by one company. Here is a chance to show something different with a character appealing to women, children and workers. The product is made very well and the callout is people instantly trust the product and it can support "long lasting" "very durable" type claims.

For example, there is the "Scrubbing Bubbles" product whose character design epitomizes the function of the product. I want to create a Sponge Character that can show the versatility of what the product can be used on..
I want the callout to be attractive to both the housewife who wants a durable and unique sponge and the contractor shopping at Home Depot for something that has many applications.
There have been many slogans in America; "KEEP AMERICA BEAUTIFUL" "DONT BE A LITTER BUG" etc.. Due to the cleaning nature of my products, I want to incorporate a) a sponge worker character in overalls that incorporates a slogan like "PLEASE KEEP IT BEAUTIFUL" with the backdrop of the earth and a feeling of cosmic peace, love, cleanliness and world unity . ie. Maybe the sponge character should wear an American Flag bandana.
He must be perceived as a smiling, happy, righteous worker guy(in overalls and wear a sponge utility belt, a hard hat, and light protective eye gear. Hes professional grade and so is the product line. The product is a "Universal" product and has many applications. I thought that could be a good aspect however I am open to any suggestions. The main point here is the target market is Home Improvement, Hardware and women. In the image that you are working on, perhaps show the various cleaning applications and wrap it in this theme of global peace and unity.

I want the character to be portrayed as someone who brings a message of good values and cleanliness and world peace to all. He embraces his fellow man and is colorblind to race. He is an empowering figure and a great roll model.

The Soap N Side brand are sponges that contain soap inside of them..The sister company is Dry N Side that makes dry heavy duty sponges. I want there to be a link between them. The Soap N Side guy will just have the face and the one u will create will have a body.
