How Elite Design House started their product packaging journey
Medical gel bottle label and carton
lots of white space, decent color splash but we don't like the curves because it leans towards being too artistic. We're looking for a more toned look, almost clinical
We like the subtle design. While it could use better color to accent it, the overall look seems more serious (which we like)
We like that it is non-cluttered, the logo stands out and so does the limited content. The packaging is very readable.
Good balance and use of minimal graphic and white space. We like the airy feel of the packaging.
Overall look is sophisticated, however the colors are a bit dull and the front is too text heavy, which we feel like the customer will not commit to reading.
We like the reliance on text as its main visual anchor however, this design is a bit too simplistic and could have used some small color splash with sharp lines.
Good contrast of colors and well formatted text so that the layout looks organized and allows the eye to glide from one part of the content to another. However we do feel like the logo font being too bold takes away from the sharp look and the blue color almost looks too generic.
very well presented mockup that shows the overall "cleanness" of the design. Though the overall curves in green are very distracting towards the back and does not make it easy to read the text (which is more important to us).
Clinical, almost prescription-like look. However it is too text heavy and comes across as too boring. A very subtle color accent and graphical element could have spruced it up.
Very well done clean design. Good balance of white space, minimal color splash, subtle graphics and good font selection. Mockup presentation is good too. Though the graphical elements could have added some excitement without going too overboard and taking away from it's open, crisp and clean design.
We love the simple, elegant, understated design that drives the eye to the uniqueness of the packaging, gives weight to the product name, splits the plainness with well accented color splash and allows the eye to focus on the secondary content.
The packaging is well balanced and exciting. It gives important to the logo (product name) however at the same time it (which is important to us) but also quickly highlights the main benefit (which is important to the customer). Though red might be too energetic of a color, we do like that it breaks up the content well, and prevents the packaging from being too boring. The content is balanced well too because the secondary content is given plenty of space to still look neat.
We love the color accents and the reliance on clean fonts with plenty of whites pace.
We like the subtle shadings and clean font use, though the text might be too small and too light to read and too concentrated in a small space.
Good, light, color scheme with great use of simple graphical elements such as different types of straight lines to break apart the content and prevent the overall look from being too plain.
We like the futuristic/medical design because it emphasizes cutting edge without looking too gimicky. Good use of simple elements such as clean boxes, different sized fonts, good suble font color selection and text formatting. Please stay away from 3D type designs however. We u usually prefer flat over 3d and shadows
Clean and crisp design. The logo looks simple yet engaging because it adds just the right amount of color to prevent it from looking boring. Good font selection, white space use and font colors.
Good use of color to break up the packaging, however we do not like the bright light effect in the middle of the green. We don't like the rounded logo which looks too artistic and generic. The content itself is quite neutral and does not seem all that crisp.
We like the overall look and the decision to use a bold color in a subtle way to break up the monotony. The logo is too artistic and generic. The logo font isn't sharp either. We like that the content below the orange bar is spruced up by using different variations of all caps, bold, plain, size changes, etc.

the site will look similar to 3pgel.com
Description of the product
PhimoGel is an advanced topical product that treats a condition of the foreskin called phimosis. Phimosis is a condition that affects men of all ages where the foreskin becomes too tight and cannot be retracted. This gel uses cutting edge compounds to restart the foreskin's process of expanding without scarring.
Description of the product target audience
Usually men between the ages of 18-35. Our typical customer is inclined to rely on good scientific research and that's why our website will use more evidence than hype. We will use medical illustrations and supportive scientific evidence to make our case for why PhimoGel is the best product for phimosis. We want the packaging to reflect that as well. It should be clean, with sharp accents that use bright colors to catch the eye. We want lots of white space being used as well with sharp fonts being used.
We want a label for PhimoGel - a medical cream used by men. There will be a front panel and a back panel. The front panel will mention the brand (PhimoGel) and the back panel will have ingredients, directions, etc. We want the carton packaging to also be done (which will be the next project and given to the winner of this contest. It would be greatly helpful (though not a requirement) if you could show a possible mock up of the carton so that we know how the bottle will look next to its carton.
The content of the label is included attached file "label content.pdf"
What to avoid
Please use a lot of white space and look at the inspiration designs we uploaded. Please don't clutter the label and don't use too many curvy lines. We would like to achieve a medical/scientific almost clinical/prescription look. That means minimal while using subtle bright color accents to prevent it from looking too boring.
The dimensions are included in the attached image "measurements.jpg"

the carton will be shaped similar to this. We liked this carton design.
