United Chocolate Group
Description of the product
Rotstern is a very traditional and nostalgic chocolate brand from East Germany. It has a very good reputation for quality and taste and a very loyal customer base. Rotstern is mainly known for chocolate tablets, pralines, moca beans and chokis.
Description of the product target audience
The core customers are man and women at the age of 60+. Also kids, as many kids products are offered.
Rotstern does not have a uniform brand look. Most products have been created over time without any design concept or CI consideration. We want to make Rotstern look like a brand wiht all its products. Recent market survey showed a clear preferencce for the traditional look of the chocolate tables (see file uploaded). This traditional look should be slightly modified to look even more retro, to strenghten the brand recognition and to serve as a design platform for the rest of the product range. Dont change too much, just stay close to the original deisgn.
What to avoid
Rotstern is not trendy and not sexy. It is traditional, nostalgic, and represents a cult for its loyal customers. The brand should be further developed towards authenticity, and emotional benefits. Dont experiment, but stick to the basic design and make minor changes to ensure maximum recognition of the brand. It is a FACELIFT. You might want to use the red star additionaly as a kind of iconic sign. Rotstern has to look more like Rotstern, meaning a step back, than a step forward. Make a cult of Rotstern.
use the regular size of a chocolate tablet of 100g.
