Movie title: "Old Blood"
Synopsis of the movie:
In Appalachia, Pluck Culhane sleeps off yet another hangover in his home-away-from-home, the local jail, while the town around him is ravaged. A band of murderous criminals led by Pluck's long lost brother are searching for the Culhane's off-the-grid-house, believing it to contain a statue made from stolen Confederate gold. After being located and captured, Pluck manages to escape but finds himself handcuffed to and dragging, an unconscious killer through the woods in a race to reach his family.
In the story he comes along a banjo picker that has been stabbed but has a jar of moonshine, which Pluck loves throughout the film, It gives him energy.
The film takes place in a small mountain village fifty years ago.(1963) The gang has killed everyone in the town(population35) because no one knows where Pluck's house is located. Pluck wears overalls. He is pure hillbilly (in his 40s) So is his wife, who wears black dresses as does his shotgun toting Granny. (picture granny from the beverly hillbillys). The killer is more of a Northern hipster. Key items in story: moonshine, shotgun, banjo, sickles, jail cell, old black & white family portaits. During the story we see black & white stills of how some of the towns folk were murdered. His wife carries an iron skillet, His son a baseball bat, his daughter a pair of sickles and Granny has the shotgun. They have a face off with the gang at the end.
I think the Pluck and the killer being handcuffed together in the woods, Pluck dragging him, is a great visual for the poster.
