Entertainment & The Arts
Award-winning father/daughter film production team that creates entertaining family-friendly content that inspires and uplifts the human spirit. The movie poster for our award-winning comedy-fantasy film, Filling In (filling-in.com/about) was created by a designer through 99designs.com and we look forward to collaborating with another artist to create the poster for our upcoming film Calf Rope (calf-rope.com).
What's your vision?
We need a movie poster for our upcoming film Calf Rope (calf-rope.com) that would be created using the attached production stills and behind-the-scenes shots (see attachments below). 1. The font to be used for the title is ALEGREYA SC and the finished poster design would eventually be printed in 24x36, 11x17, and postcard size but will also be used for web-based promotions. 2. We will also need a TAG LINE to be added to the poster (which we are still debating on) that would be 50% smaller than the title and using the ALEGREYA SC font as well. Feel free to just add TAG LINE HERE or MOVIE SLOGAN HERE to save a space for that until we determine what that tagline will be. (see our posters for our films ROLLER COASTER (rollercoastershortfilm.com) or FILLING IN (filling-in.com) for examples. 3. ONLY use the photos attached below for the artwork in your design and not images that you may find on our website for the film or our Instagram @calf_rope.
Please note that we do not want more than five (5) of the attached images to be used as part of a poster design. Any of these attached photos can be used either all or in part as long as you use one image of of the two main characters which are the grandson, "BRANDON" and the grandfather, "MAC". The image of the young pre-teen cowboy in the photo "Cowboy in the Clouds" can be included as well since he is an important supporting character in the film and could be used as a background image in the upper half of the poster design as if he represented a "spirit in the sky". Some photos are behind-the-scenes shots that have camera equipment or crew member's hands in them which would need to be removed or obscured. For example, the photo of the grandson (BRANDON) sitting in his grandfather's lap would need to have the camera equipment removed on the right side of the photo, if used. Same with the shot of BRANDON aiming his cap gun towards the camera. So feel free to edit any of these additional images as needed. We also have other production stills and behind-the-scenes shots included below if any artists have something specific in mind that they think would be a nice touch to add to this poster.

And then… they selected a winner!
_Blue_ is a tremendously talented artist who far exceeded our expectations by offering a vision for our poster for Calf Rope like no other of the 23 artists he initially was competing against could match. Throughout the entire process_Blue_ took all of our extensively detailed notes to heart and persistently followed those directions and our guidance throughout the entire journey of creating our official poster for our film, Calf Rope (calf-rope.com).
The collaboration with _Blue_ was so successful that we immediately moved over to a 1-to-1 project with the artist in order to create additional graphics for the film (key art and Facebook covers) which recreated elements of his beautiful poster design into these new assets that are so very evidently "cut from the same cloth." Working with _Blue_ was a tremendous experience and we could not possibly give a higher recommendation to other filmmakers to connect with this dedicated artist for your own official posters and key art!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
