STFilm got their new poster by running a design contest:
Anti-Sex Trafficking Film: Need Awesome, Positive, Hopeful Movie Poster
Check out STFilm's Poster contest…
Entertainment & The Arts
Our non-profit retreat center is creating a documentary on the anti-sex trafficking movement. The focus is to not only show the issue (which can be very difficult to see and learn about) but to highlight the people who are fighting against sex trafficking every day. Interviews are of survivors, non-profit organizations like UNICEF, national and international organizations, governors, Hollywood celebrity/actors, prosecutors, college students, professors, politicians, and more from the US, Mexico and Philippines. We want to show that everyone can make a difference if you believe in an issue and that you can be part of any social injustice movement in different ways. This non-commercial, not-for-profit film will be distributed nationwide, for free, to US colleges and universities (or any organization that wants it). Our hope is to raise awareness and inspire action among the youth. The youth are the future. This is why it is important that the poster design needs to be entertaining, awesome, intense, compelling, and creative to grab the attention of young college students so that they watch it. Most documentaries on sex trafficking are 90% negative leaving you hopeless and helpless. We want to do the opposite, 10% negative, 90% positive, this way youth feel empowered to go out and make a difference, live with awareness, and prevent and end sex trafficking. We need an amazing, powerful, epic design to inspire a movement among the youth.
What's your vision?
SPECS: An official 27" x 40" poster Things we do like: creative, unique, cinematic, modern, hipster, vintage look...you know something appealing to the youth :) *Samples we like - we'll continue to add over the next day.* https://www.pinterest.com/stoptrafficfilm/99designs/ Things we do not like: something that looks like a college textbook cover, corporate, illustrations, anime, cartoon, concert/dj promo We also DO NOT like the stereotypical designs such as chains, handcuffs, a girl that looks beaten or terrified, stop signs, "x" marks, barcodes... we don't want the stereotypical look. Thoughts: Our film focuses on girls AND boys..most films focus on girls, so having both male and female already makes a statement and shows we're different from other sex-trafficking films... if you decide to show this Important: Give a feel for hope, empowerment, and inspiration Film is about the Heroes of the anti-sex trafficking movement. Poster Text: Siddhayatan Presents Title: STOPPING TRAFFIC SubTitle: The Movement to End Sex-Trafficking Movie Poster Credit - Add the typical movie credit info like "producer" "director" etc. (we will add names later) (I'm clarifying this line as designs submitted have not included it). Major organizations, like the United Nations, celebrities, etc. are part of this film. Please submit high-quality, creative, original designs with this in mind.
