We are a not-for-profit organisation established to promote International Slavery Remembrance Day, commemorate the victims of the Transatlantic Slave Trade and educate people of every background on the Transatlantic Slave Trade and the lessons we can learn from it. Each year we hold a memorial in London's, Trafalgar Square.
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
Flyer/poster to promote Sankofa Day
Font style preferred: Sans Serif
Title: Sankofa Day - the 'o' in Sankofa must be replaced with the Sankofa bird image provided.
Text to be used:
-Remembering enslaved Africans past and present
-Wear your Remembrance Sankofa with pride on 23/08 OR 'Wear your -Remembrance Sankofa with pride' and put the date 23/08 elsewhere on the flyer -buy yours at http://www.sankofaday.org
Our Sankofa (bird image) must be incorporated and used throughout the design.
We do not wish to see chains or fists in the image. Nor are we trying to evoke feelings of pity, much the opposite. The bird is seen as an object of strength, beauty and power and it will be a tool/symbol to inspire these feelings when remembering the victims of the slave
Our ethos is educate, celebrate, inspire. The design should reflect this.
