Modern, eye catching card design for colorful board game

I make card and board games.

I need a redesign for the cards that is professional, modern, and eye-catching, and will set this game apart as I strive to raise funding to get it manufactured. The design must effectively communicate information to players. This game consists of 300 unique animal cards. Gameplay involves playing animals for one of seven traits. I am open to various designs, but the following information must be included somewhere on the card: background color (cards are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, or violet), animal name, set ID (see upper right-hand corner of examples), seven columns with trait information (the larger rectangles on the cards), level information for each of the seven traits (see the dots in the one image, the smaller colored bars in the other).

I do NOT need designs for the smaller symbols you see here, or for the pictures of animals - I only need the card layout, background, borders, etc. You're the professionals - see my examples, then redesign something beautiful!
