NIC MAP provides data and analytics for the senior housing and care industry. Our database includes more than 12,000 properties in the United States. See www.nicmap.org. We utilize Bing maps to allow our customers to search for properties and want to have a custom set of map pins to display properties. Please see www.redfin.com or http://www.redfin.com/help/search/map-legend for an example of what we are looking for. We like how Redfin uses shape to indicate property type (single family, townhouse, condominium, and multi-family) and color for other characteristics of the listing. Our current pins are simple tear drops and color is used to identify property types. They lack the ability to indicate property size, and all construction properties get the same green pin, so you can’t tell the type of property that is under construction. We need a set of pins that indicate both property type and property size (through color, shape and size of the pin) with the option of additional ornaments to the pin for other property characteristics. There are 4 property types and 3 property sizes. Thus, there should be 12 basic pins, each with optional ornaments (4) for a total of 48 images. Property Types - Independent Living - Assisted Living - Nursing Care Facility - CCRC (contain both Independent and Skilled Nursing units) Property Size - looking for a creative way to indicate the relative size of a property. Perhaps multiple outlines for larger properties or a different size/shape to the pin. - Small (<50 units) - Medium (51-100 units) - Large (>100 units) Other indicators Redfin uses small star, X, or heart in the corner of the pin to indicate more detail about a property. We’re looking to use this concept to indicate the items below. You can be creative about the type of ornament for the pin. - Indicate a property has recently opened. (Balloons, Flags, Pennant Lines could work) - Indicate a property is under construction. (Hammer, Hard Hat, muted color, dotted outline?) - Recently Sold (Dollar sign, SOLD banner?) - User is the owner of the property (Star)
