Batling allows users to create funny content in-app and to post it in a feed. Each user tries to get the highest score possible by attempting to gather as many likes as possible without getting too many dislikes. This community is unbiased as voters don't see who posts what or how well a post is performing.
We are looking for UI/UX designer. We really want to emphasize that the UX part is just as important as the UI part. The app should have a sleek and fun flat design. Imagine going to see a handsome, whitty and hilarious comedian who's wearing a classy outfit (maybe a black or dark blue suit, but no tie--> after All it's not a serious app :)) with bright Nike shoes (neon green and/or bright orange and/or flashy purple, light blue...) --> That is the atmosphere people should sense coming to Batling
Here are the 5 main screens that need to be designed: 1 - Home page: It is the first page any user sees when he opens the app so it is a very crucial one. It needs to look good and have the info around the bats better organized (time when it was posted, report button, like, dislike, share button). Please find a way to include a watermark “Batling” with or without our Bat logo in both the Image and text posts. They will not appear on the home page but only when the content is shared. From here, people can access the settings with a side menu, their profile and create their own "Bat" by clicking on the "+" button. 2 – Image creation This screen, its icons and their organization need to look better overall. We also need to find a way to have the text better integrated when added to a picture. (above the picture to not cover it? With the same overlay system but with the ability to move the text to different positions on the pic?) 3 – Text creation This screen is just to write some text, but it needs to look better and less sad. 4 – Profile (This needs to be really prominent as it is one of the core features in the app) → Right now the profile contains a lot of stuff but I want it to have its own screen, that’s own central it needs to be. For us it needs to have the batscore, the following badges (Your ranking among all Batling users, the highest score you’ve gotten on a single bat, the number of times your Bats have made it to the popular page), and a "settings" icon comprising the info from the current side menu (help, contact us and sign out). We suspect users will take screenshots of their score to put on social media, so please try to include the name of the app and/or logo somewhere on that screen if it’s not too intrusive. If it’s not possible without lowering the quality of the UI, we can think of having a share button for that screen, which would then carry the watermark. 5 – My activity This represents the activity that a user got on his bats (like, dislike, shares) and the list of his/her bats in 2 different tabs. The activity screen is the channel we use to communicate with the users (milestones reached, reported content + explanation, all company announcements by “Team Batling” etc...) So please, in addition to the like, dislike a,d share notification, please also include an annoucement notification for report, milestone, and simple announcement) You can test the app here if you are an iphone user: https://betas.to/dEqLkxQg --> It is in French but you'll most likely get an idea with my explanations
What to avoid
Don't hesitate to make big changes if you strongly feel it's needed (combining two screens together, splitting some, reorganizing the info, trying "out of the box" designs...etc). Like I said, UX is just as important as UI for me. Also, the app is about the content so in the end it should not look too crowded. Also, the files provided are here to help you understand the concept and user flow, not necessarily to be a starting point for your work ;) Thanks and good luck!
