We want to develop an easy to use Music, Podcasts and Audiobook app for kids <10 years old, that plays the content available in Music. Apple Music has great content for kids, but it is extremely difficult to surface and be used by kids. We want to solve this. ** Further description just for your info** What is Big Wave Music? Music Apps such as Apple Music have a vast library of over 60 million titles, podcasts, and audiobooks. Their content library is so massive that surfacing the right content to the right user via recommended playlists is one of the biggest challenges and key differentiators for success. The Big Wave Music App is an iPhone, iPad and Carplay App based on Apple Music content intended for Kids. Its user interface and content are curated and designed for children to be used. It’s private, it doesn’t show Ads, and parents can control its usage and filter its content. We also do not annoy our users with unnecessary notifications to attract usage, or build-in any addictive mechanisms like automatic playback among albums or audiobooks. We encourage parents and kids to enjoy and share their time together, whether is playing, hearing new stories or just dancing. That’s the way we understand technology. It should help humanize relationships instead of getting in between.
It should follow the Styleguide of Apple Music (white or dark mode, any of both are ok) but with the content adapted for kids as in Youtube Kids or in Spotify Kids.
Big Wave Music
The App design UX/UI should be oriented for kids between 3-6 (Kindergarten) and 6-10 (Primary school) (simple to no text, visual, big buttons and simplified functions - the less the better) 1. Parents have to login to their Apple Music account. 2. The App main structure is based on a four nav tab with Library, Discover, Player and user settings. The Library shows the following content: - Keep Playing - which Artist, Album, Podcast or Audiobook did the kid hear and would like to keep hearing (we remember the last played position, and provide recommendations for related content, like the next chapter or album). - Favorite Artists / Characters / albums, / Genres / Categories (e.g. Disney) - Favorite Podcasts - Favorite Audiobooks He can continue the playback by simply clickin on the content 3. Player Screen with easy to use controller buttons and extended functions (like, show lyrics, etc), album art, ...
