The game is a Fairy Tale themed Slot Machine App. Our in-game interfaces are bright, colorful, and focus on creating the feelings of excitement and cheerfulness. Good submissions will also be considered for long term contract work with us. We want someone who is collaborative and can design game UIs with mass appeal.
We want the game to feel magical and fun. The colors should be bright. Glow and sparkles are good, but don't overuse. We are targeting a primarily US audience. -Do not make it look like a kids game (not Disney). -Do not make it super pink or girly. -We think that Blizzard's Hearthstone has a lot of good UI references, but their colors are generally darker than we want, and their UI pieces are blockier/chunkier than we want. If you look at Hearthstone for reference, please look at in-game UI, not the website. Please notice their use of glows and effects and how they We've provided WIP screenshots of three themes for the game (Aladdin, Peter Pan, Sherlock Homes). Please note that this game will have a wide range of different themes (Cinderella, Alice on Wonderland, Little Mermaid). So don't make your UI specific to any particular story. It should be more generically Fairy Tales themed. The lobbysample_01.png is a screenshot of our currently WIP lobby. Please build on top of that. Feel free to replace the left and right tab buttons currently in that screen. The lobby tournaments view is some UI that we're using for a different feature in the game. That UI is a little bit darker than we'd like, but is stylistically close. You can use elements from it, but don't need to match that UI style. Mobile Slots Game
For the contest, we are going to focus on just the Facebook-related dialogs. After the contest we will have a lot more work designing the rest of the UI for this game. These flow are all designed to get players to send gifts to their friends. We attach a number of social interactions in dialogs where we give free coins to players. The goal is to lead them towards social interactions. We expect players to interact with these flows at the beginning and end of their play sessions. We want you to make the following mockup screens: 1a - Lobby.png 1b - Friend Bonus Connected.png 1c - Friend Bonus Unconnected.png 2 - Gift Box.png 3 - Friend Selector.png There are three screens: 1. The social flows originate from the lobby. The left hand side is the "Friend Bonus". This is a slider design, think of it as a file tab. All the info is hidden underneath the lobby and out of sight. Once you hit Friends Tab, the slider will slide up revealing what you see in the mockup 1b and 1c. Players will be able to collect this every hour. 1b is what the slider looks like before you are connected to Facebook. Notice the award multiplier to the right in 1b- The bonus grows bigger as they add more friends. 2. The right hand side is the "Gift Box". They will receive 1 free gift from the game every day. In additional, they can send and receive gifts from their friends and claim it here. This is also a slider design from 1a Lobby. Once you hit the gift box the panel, it will slide up the mockup you see in 2- Gift Box.png 3. There is a friend selector as well. both the Friend Bonus and Gift Box screens will trigger the friend selector to send different types of messages. This is a multiple friend selector image you see often in social/mobile games. We want you to design this to the mockup. Please treat the wireframes as primarily functional. We want you to build on top of it. For your first submission, I recommend starting with the Friend Bonus dialog.(1b - Friend Bonus Connected.png) It's both relatively simple in terms of the number of elements, and will also let us see if the style fits with the rest of the game.
What to avoid
We are looking for a mass market slot machine feel. Please do not submit any minimalistic designs. Please don't use dark/subdued colors. Please don't restrict yourself to the standard iOS button shapes and colors. Breaking the mold is good here. This is a game, not a utility app. The UI should not look like a system app, it should be rich and magical and fun.
