The concept is to create a metal keychain/bottle opener with high-quality typography that will be given as a gift to people who are retiring. We require the phrase: "Retired: Goodbye Tension, Hello Pension" (punctuation optional depending on your design). There are multiple ways to produce typography in metal...deboss, emboss, cutout, etc. Also, the shape of the metal/medallion (whatever you want to call it) is up to you, but please, no sharp edges that would be uncomfortable in a pocket. You can see our existing products at http://southcreektrading.com/products to see a variety of what can be done with the metal. Note the Coffee keychain (creative shape, text is embossed), vs the Nurse keychain (text is debossed/raised). Note the Skull, which is a creative shape (and a bottle opener). Bottle openers can be done on the edge of the metal, or as a cutout trapezoid.
We are looking for creative options that would be funny/fun/eye-catching. Something that makes the keychain stand out to someone looking for a retirement gift.
Keep the medium of milled metal in mind as you design it. Don't go crazy with things like gradients...they don't translate well into metal. Think "raised", "recessed", "cutout"...and maybe a sand-blasted texture, or stained with a single color. Unsure about silver vs. bronze color...that will depend on the design. Don't do silly cutouts where you have free-floating pieces. (You can't cutout the letter "P"...the center of the P has nothing to keep it there)
UPDATE: You do NOT need to make a 3D mock-up. We are looking for the design, so we care about the shape, layout, typography, etc. We know how to translate it to metal. Don't let the need to make a mock-up distract you or put you off.
