Games & Recreational
We are creating a brand of mid to high end camping/hiking/adventure gear. We are targeting 25-55 yo weekend warriors who are willing to spend a little more to get quality gear. These customers are sophisticated, adventurous professionals.
What's your vision?
We are looking to get a creative original design for our hiking poles. This design needs to look professional, clean (not too cluttered/busy) but eye catching. We already have a logo to be included in the design.
We intend that all three sections of the hiking poles will be coloured (ie no 3K carbon fibre on display). The top of the handle can be coloured (see attached image) as can the flip locks but they do not have to be. The strap will also need a design element, even if it is only our logo. Please see the attached images depicting the two strap types we are looking at using. We have also attached the trekking pole logo template as supplied by our pole manufacturer. Note that the Mountain Crab logo is just a generic logo they send out, not ours! Please also note that the 1st and 2nd sections will have measurements marked toward the top (to indicate the height of the pole when locked at that position) as well as a STOP at the top to indicate the end of the section. The measurement markings are done by the manufacturer and are not to be included as part of the design but please allow room for them to be incorporated. The manufacturer was unable to provide a template with the exact dimensions of each section as this varies per customer. The top section (3rd section on template) will be 18mm in diameter (approx 56mm circumference) and will have a design area of approx 210mm in length. The logo will go on the top section. The second section will have a diameter of 16mm (approx 50mm circumference) and the design area will be approx 200mm in length (before measurements start - 440mm total). The bottom section (1st section on template) will be 14mm in diameter (approx 44mm in circumference) and have a design area of approx 155mm (before measurements start - 395mm total. While the pole manufacturers have assured us that they resize designs as necessary to fit the poles, please keep this in mind with your designs. Also find attached a number of photos of some of the most popular hiking poles in the USA (our initial target market). Please note that the "Boundless" poles are made by our manufacturer and so this is similar to what our poles will look like. The handle/grip and locks are identical. Please find attached a photo of the top of the handle (grey and red) that you can colour to match your design. Most of the well-known brand photos we have sent are very plain, in particular the white and red "Black Diamond" poles. Despite the lack of graphical design these poles are very popular. We would like to add a little more of a design element to our poles while still maintaining a simple professional appearance. We are looking for something a little closer to the Grey and Red Leki example pole we have attached (in that it has more of a graphical element – however we don’t particularly like their design). We would love to see some creative ideas that would differentiate us from the competition! We think our logo already stands out from the crowd, and we are looking for a great colour scheme and simple design element to match. If you have any questions about what we are looking for or need anything clarified please don’t hesitate to ask. I have included our two logo styles, the "27degreesn second" logo is the one we envisioned on the top section of the pole. If you are able to find somewhere to use our other logo (which we prefer however thought the second logo fits the shape of the pole better) then feel free (eg maybe on wrist strap). I have included our logo in a JPG and AI format, please let us know if you need EPS or PSD files etc.
