This non-for-profit organisation has two aims:
First, to provide a place for a community of residents from the Hills district NSW (target audience), where they can share about and keep up to date with, all of the local events, good works and outreaches, of any group, individual, organisation, church or charity in the hills district.
The second aim is to support all these organisations, through promoting their events, empowering more people to volunteer, helping with the startup of new initiatives and by raising money for these local outreaches.
First of all thank you for taking the time to read this and share you ideas and talents with us. I hope you will be able to help us make a difference in peoples lives through using you gifts and talents to create this website.
The website will work in partnership with the facebook page.
The fb page will allow users to post about all things related to any of the outreaches. We have the facebook page up, and do not yet need help with that aspect.
The website needs to be able to effectively promote all of the upcoming events from all of the different organisations. (Something like posters on a notice board is how I had imagined it, but I am very open to different promo methods)
It also needs to be able to hold all of the details of each of the events and all of the organisations involved.
I think it would also be helpful to have some sort of event calendar to put all the events in one place.
Currently we have bought the domain name heartofthehills.com.au,
and we are happy to go with hostpappa.com to host our website (unless the website designer has another preference).
The success of the website and the FB page, will be determined by the number of hills based home owners who like the page and view the web site. So it is essential that the fb page and website can be shared peer to peer easily and the home owners are motivated to do this.
Some of our charity organisations may also want to email specific people, so it would be good to get their details.
