HOMEPAGE: Should include address (154 Waterman Street, Suite 3, Providence, Rhode Island 02906), phone (401) 383-4411, fax (401) 383-8010; hours of operation: Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm; Saturday based on demand (call at 8am!); "East Side Pediatrics opened in February 2008 with the expectation of creating a pediatric practice that sets the highest standard of excellence. (new paragraph) The foundation of any medical practice is the quality of its doctors. Drs. William J. Morocco, Tracey Myatt, Amy Farb, & Canan Tural are recognized by their fellow pediatricians as excellent clinicians. They have decades of combined experience in the community. Our doctors believe that being a skilled diagnostician is not enough, though. Bedside manner is relevant. At East Side Pediatrics, the art of medicine is not lost."
CLINICAL INFO: Our core goal at East Side Pediatrics is primary prevention - stopping illness or disease processes before they happen. Examples of primary prevention include the use of seat belts and bicycle helmets, discussing proper nutrition starting in infancy, and screening for vision, hearing, lead, and cholesterol problems before there are symptoms. (new paragraph) The greatest form of primary prevention is the administration of childhood vaccines according to the guidelines set forth by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Center for Disease Control. The doctors and staff of East Side Pediatrics unequivocally support the timely and appropriate administration of these vaccines. Recent outbreaks of illness in the United States in general and southeastern New England specifically highlight the importance of immunization. (I would love to provide a link here to the AAP or CDC VIS - vaccine information statements - sheets for people to click on).
Despite the best primary prevention, illness and adversity still occurs. At East Side Pediatrics, we pride ourselves on answering all your questions at the time of your visit without a sense of rushing. Nonetheless, questions invariably occur after the time of the visit. (here there should be two links - one to the PARENT CENTER at UpToDate - I can provide the code for a link; the other is to our PATIENT PORTAL).
ADMINISTRATIVE INFO: Becoming a patient of East Side Pediatrics is easy! Please follow these steps: (1) Download and complete the Release Form. Mail or fax it to use beforehand and we can obtain a copy of your child's medical records in time for their first visit in out office. Or you may give it to us at the time of their first visit, though this likely means we will no have all the information immediately at hand (important if your child has an involved medical history) - I'd like to put a link to the Release Form (2) Download and complete the Registration Form. This also can be sent ahead of time or brought to your first visit. A completed form will expedite your check-in and markedly decrease your initial wait time - I'd like a link to the Registration Form here. (3) Review our Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act Policy. This does NOT need to be download or signed. But it does outline our office policy protecting your health information. We take this very seriously.
