Community & Non-Profit
Sunrise Water Authority is a public water supply agency serving customers in the Clackamas, Happy Valley and Damascus areas in the Metropolitan area of Portland, Oregon. Having just come through a tough patch in our history we have become revitalized by a new management team and Board of Commissioners. We have a need to communicate to our customers that it is no longer "business as usual" but that we are actively working on their behalf to assure that they get the best value in water supply possible. The new logo will be a starting point for an ongoing community and public relations campaign to increase the visibility of the agency and educate customers about the many ways that the water utility adds value to their lives and their communities and our determination to be efficient and effective in delivering superior service. The primary audience will be our customers, but other stakeholders involved with water, such as conservation groups and surrounding water providers and state and local agencies with whom we do business will also be a secondary target. Our company values integrity, excellence, accountability, transparency, and community. We are developing a work force that seeks to deliver on those values every day.
Logo types to explore
Our current logo is basically clip art that has been modified and was created when the agency was about a third the size of its current customer base more than a decade ago. We definately want something that conveys that we are a professional organization staffed by highly qualified people dedicated to providing an essential public service. As an agency, we are committed to moving out of our past as a small local water provider and taking our place as one of the larger water agencies in the area, after having weathered the storm of massive intense growth followed by a traumatic hit during the economic downturn. We know that what we do is important to every one of our customers, even if they take it for granted that they can get clean, safe water at any time and in any volume. Serving public water is actually a very complex business that requires high levels of technical knowledge and a dedicated work force that believes passionately in the value of what they do every day and are constantly looking for ways to improve the service the public receives. We would prefer to keep the logo in the two color or two color with gradient range. We will also need to use it in a black and white and grayscale format regularly. We like the logo for Barwon Water.
