yeikow got their new logo design by running a design contest:
< 1000 USD > Social Network Design Contest
Check out yeikow's Logo design contest…
This is a two-part design contest: First, the design of a Social Network Logo. Second, the design and coding of a template based on the logo, for a phpfox v1.5 script.
What's your vision?
Tagline: friendship is the experience Desired Color Scheme: European Union: blue and yellow. Bits of green or orange if necessary. Desired Style: This site is aimed at _university_students_ spending a year abroad. Its theme tightly connected with the European Union: think blue and yellow, stars, europe maps, european monuments... etc It has to be FUN and COOL, yet not for young teenagers. Som Accepted File Formats: .jpeg, .psd, .css ... etc Here is an opportunity to win a good Christmas prize. We need a top quality design for a new Social Networking Site: erasmusOne.com ___________________________________________________________ PART 1: -200 USD for the LOGO- We want a sharp looking logo that would appeal our audience. Eropean Union (EU) colors. I suggest using the O in erasmusone as the stars of the UE flag. There is no need to include ".com" Tagline: I am not sure about this. For the time being: "friendship is the experience". It may change later but it shouldnt be an important element of the design. Apart from the text itself, a smiley based on Erasmo of Rotterdam (google for images of him)on the left side of the text would be interesting. I was thinking of a classical circle smily with Erasmo's characteristic hat. Something really simple yet effective. If this part doesn't seem to go anywhere, the text itself will do. ___________________________________________________________ PART 2: -800 USD for the coded template- ***WARNING: Do not start part2 until the winning logo has been chosen. We will not start this part of the contest until Part 1 is done. This template will be based on phpfox. http://www.phpfox.com/view/ The new version (1.5) http://www.phpfoxdemo.com/betav1_5/ uses SMARTY so it will be easier to code than previous versions. You can partner up with someone to do the coding for you if you want. We would like a web 2.0 feel. Things such as round corners, some reflections, shadows, white space, small icons... just to give an idea. It doesn't necessarily need exactly these. All titles, fonts, icons... etc of the inside of the site must be changed from the default version, by customizing the css. Please avoid titles in capital letters. For the main page I suggest: -Do not overcharge it. -No featured member. -No random polls. -Some background watermarks of a european/world map? -Under the header and sections a big photo in the top left. Login/register box to its right. Under the login/register box the wellcome text. Somewhere "New blogs". Somewhere "Just joined". -The elements from the last paragraph can be moved as however you feel looks better, but would be nice to have. Some changes in the layout: Instead of Browse, Search Instead of Gallery, Photos Instead of Events, Parties In the subsection of MyAccount: Instead of Submit Items: Upload; Instead of My Items: My Experience. Leave out Rate, Battle, Poll, Fun, Quiz and Music (these titles should be properly design/coded in case I decided to add them in the future, but I won't make them viewable for starters). ___________________________________________________________ Please let me know if you are participating in this contest (part 1,2 or both). There will be 10 days maximum for part 1 and 20 days for part 2. This may vary according to the development of the contest. Good luck!
