The Trio needs a new logo

The Trio

We are a classy and fun trio that plays weddings, corporate events and clubs. We want a logo that makes us look elegant, sophisticated, expensive, and also fun.

We call ourselves "The" Trio because it's really just the three of us that work.. no substitutions.. we've tried.

There is a certain magic we have as a cohesive unit, we improvise music spontaneously together, and it always sounds good no matter what!

Burnis plays bongos.. he is african american from New York city.. and he plays groovy, always with a big smile.

Oliver plays sax.. he is latino, and plays from the heart.. also with a big grin on his face like a little boy.

I'm Chance and I play the piano, sing and lead the group. We never decide what songs we are going to play until right before we play it. It totally depends on what vibe we feel in the room. I have a good intuitive sense of what to play and when. Also we love taking requests.. playing jazz, pop, soul, country, rock, latin music, french, italian, portuguese.. whatever.

I ran a contest previously and did not get any submissions that I liked. Am raising the contest prize to hopefully attract some better designers.

Simple and strong is what I'm going for.
People who are confident in themselves and what they do don't need to talk a lot. Simple elegant logo that communicates strength, class and flair.

Unsure of colour scheme.. Probably mostly black.. perhaps with a touch of a rich dark purple.

Not really sure.. I'm open to anything at this point.

DON'T want a busy, cluttered design. Will eliminate designers who keep submitting bad designs and do not listen to feedback and adapt their revisions.

Graphical elements should be subtle.
Perhaps more "interpretive" and not overt.
Please be sophisticated and classy..
Stay away from anything typical or cheezy.
