Salganyc got their new logo design by running a design contest:
SALGA NYC needs a new logo

Community & Non-Profit
The South Asian Lesbian & Gay Association of New York City (SALGA NYC) serves sexual minorities and people of all gender identities, who trace their heritage to South Asia or who identify as South Asian. We have worked as a volunteer-run non-profit organization for 20 years, and we need a new logo! Our mission is to enable community members to establish cultural visibility and take a stand against oppression and discrimination in all its forms. We pledge to encourage leadership development, provide multi-generational support, work towards immigration advocacy, address health issues such as HIV / AIDS, and foster political involvement in the interest of creating a more tolerant society.
Logo types to explore
SALGA NYC has 20 years of history serving the queer South Asian community in New York City. As such, we are one of the larger queer Asian groups in the United States. We are a volunteer run non-profit organization. We see ourselves as a friendly, inclusive community organization. We would like colors or symbolism that can stand for all the various cultures, religions, and communities that make up South Asia (Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal, India, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, as well as South Asian diaspora in various parts of the world), and for all gender and sexual identities. We are open to something inspired by our current logo, or something entirely new. We need an image that is bold, visible, and energetic. For an overview of our programming, please check our website, http://www.salganyc.org, and feel free to add us on facebook.
