POWERAMERICA is a new institute created by the U.S. Department of Energy to significantly improve the manufacturing processes associated with a semiconductor technology that could replace silicon chips. The institute is being run by NC State University and will also involve a number of large U.S. manufacturers, such as GE. POWERAMERICA represents the effort in the United States to remain competitive in manufacturing.
Because POWERAMERICA is being located at NC State University, it would be appropriate (but no required) to consider using BLACK and RED as the primary colors for the logo. Another option to consider - patriotic colors of some kind. Please avoid all pastels.
Also, because this is related to manufacturing, any logo treatment should convey strength (think electric power). I would also be looking for a “clean,” corporate look as opposed to a more fanciful approach or design.
The word POWERAMERICA is one word - with the P and A elevated (larger) than the other letters.
You are welcome to come up with a symbol that accompanies the letters, but it is not required. The letters are more important than any symbol.
