Saintfactory got their new logo design by running a design contest:
How to picture glorified Christ?
Check out Saintfactory's Logo design contest…
We are a new Catholic parish in a rapidly growing, suburban area of South Carolina. Just as the three apostles saw Jesus in his glory on the mountaintop (Matt 17), so too at Transfiguration Catholic Church we seek to help people encounter Jesus Christ in a powerful way!
Logo types to explore
We are exploring something like the attached picture to somehow graphically represent the Transfiguration event in a simple way, without actually drawing out Jesus, etc. (This is when Jesus was on the hill with three disciples, and they saw him shining in his divine glory. The XP symbol is an ancient symbol for Christ.) We would like to make car magnets featuring the symbol in a circle or "stain glass window" bullet-shape, with our name at the bottom (like the Jaguar example); whereas on the website and on other media we might have the church name quite large with the hill / Jesus symbol incorporated into the overall design as a logo (like the Acme example). The attached logo attempt is the closest we have been able to come so far... trying to make the XP "shine" from behind with rays coming out. However, this attempt is not polished and remains a little too cartoony. We are searching for something along these lines which are colorful, simple, and yet sophisticated and worthy of representing a church family. The challenge for you is this... can you figure out a way for a mind-blowing event like the Transfiguration of Christ to be represented in a simple and yet recognizable way, suitable for a church logo?
