Paul@Loop got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Mussel sock for the aquaculture industry
Check out Paul@Loop's Logo design contest…
The field of aquaculture is growing as more and more people farm sea creatures for sale on the world market. One area of aquaculture that has seen an increase in not only demand but also in the technology used in mussel farming. Long line mussel farming involves cultivating baby mussels (referred to as mussel "seeds" or "spat") by growing them on specialised rope. Seed mussels are put around a rope, then wrapped with biodegradable cotton mesh socking and placed into the ocean. When the seed mussels eventually attach to the rope the cotton mesh socking disintegrates/biodegrades, leaving the mussels to continue growing. Lock Sock is the continuous cotton mesh socking that the rope and seed mussels are dropped into.
The 2 images attached show an example of the rope where the seed mussels are attached and the continuous cotton mesh socking that the rope and seed mussels are dropped into.
