M Gordon Interiors, LLC needs a new logo

We sell and install Window Coverings (Blinds, Shades, Shutters, etc.), Projection Screens, Theater / Stage Curtains and Rigging, and Cubicle (Privacy / Hospital) Curtains. The company is mostly Commercial / Contract, which targets General Contractors, Construction Managers, Architects, and any other parties related to the Construction Bidding Contract Industry. Then, of course, the less formal accounts with long term relationships with schools/universities (especially for stage curtains), hospitals, residential developers, and any large businesses to name a few. We also do residential sales. Although, I am not a designer, I have worked with them for many years, and I have plans to hire designers in the future. Until then, I'll leave the fabric swatches and curtains alone, as I am focused more on hard line products like Shades, Blinds, and Shutters as I am an authorized dealer for large manufacturers such as Hunter Douglas and Draper, Inc. In residential sales, most of my clients will probably be Middle to High Income households, with more than half of the decision making individuals being female.
Logo types to explore
I had a graphic designer make the rough draft logos for me. He is a very close and long time friend, so it would be nice to somehow keep the ideas of his design. I like the 'mgi Logo Rough draft 1' of the 'mgi' letters made from a picture that I took of a horizontal blind. This choice is also my favorite color of all of the blues. It is easier to work with and is more of a company logo. However, when I asked anyone else for their opinion, they pick the 'MGi Logo Rough 2' of the 'MGi" with the background. I would like to see a combination of the two somehow...maybe. I love the dark blue color, which I requested. A couple of the other examples with the capital letters, 'MGI' show more of the horizontal blinds in the background, but I kept giving him new fonts because I just don't love the lines I think. On the other hand, horizontal blinds are not all I sell. It works though. Something is just not right with it, whether it be the lines, or the font, or the spacing. My friend was doing this for me as a favor, and I feel like I'm bugging him now. He almost has it right, but its just not perfect for me, and this process has gone on for too long now. Therefore, I am now at the mercy of you talented designers with more experience in this field. I may be focused on something that is totally wrong, and I need help 'looking outside the box'. Furthermore, I have recently concluded that it is probably best to have my company name, M Gordon Interiors, LLC, as the logo or with the 'mgi'. I want my last name, Gordon, to be known and stand out when people come across my company or my business card, and that name will give my company a competitive edge for reasons not explained here. Also, with 'Interiors', I wanted the name of my business to give some sort of idea of what I do, hoping that I am not mistaken for a Design company This is why I named my company M Gordon Interiors instead of Michael Gordon Interiors, MGI, LLC. Although, I am not 100% set of those designs, and I would go with something totally different if I loved it. Thank you all sooooo much!!
