affaction got their new logo design by running a design contest:
New logo wanted for Yearbook.org
Check out affaction's Logo design contest…
Yearbook.org will be a social networking community with a Virtual Yearbook as well as a place to purchase hard/digital copies of your high school yearbook. The logo should promote the Brand - Yearbook.org and not necessarily the site's intent. The logo should be professional and able to stand on its own. It does not need to have a Yearbook in the image, nor a social networking element, but these are welcome.
Logo types to explore
A few ideas: Using the look and feel of a row of students in the a Yearbook(see uploaded image) replacing the students with the letters of Y E A R B O O K and taking the .org and minimizing it off to the right or on the bottom of the image. Each letter could be plain, or we could dress the letters up with hair styles and they take on the image of a student. Personas could be introduced as well, such as girls, guys, nerds, jocks using slight variations of hair styles, glasses, etc around the letters. Another idea, or a combination of the one above. Same style as above, but using a book as the backdrop, with Y E A R going on one side of the split and B O O K going on the opposite side of the split, or next page. You would have an open book as the background with those letters filling in the page content. These are just suggestions and any designs are welcome.
