Beautiful rooms all start with the floor
We are a national retail chain selling flooring (carpet/timber/vinyl/laminate) in the Australian marketplace. The brand and logo device have been in constant use since 1890.
Logo types to explore
Our old logo pre 2007 (see attached) had become too dated. The device had tremendous brand recognition but was falling behind modern taste and designs. in 2007 we refreshed with a very clean modern design and pastel shades. In doing so traded off the 'character' side for sleek design. We are interested in seeing if someone can find a happy middle ground. A return to a brighter colour palette and putting the character back in. (in stylising the sultan we lost the character feel). The man is supposed to be a Sultan (not a genie) but this became unclear with the rug he sat on became a flying rug in one version. The rug device needs to be retained in some way but can be a flying rug or not. If you modernise the character, he needs to still be a royal / sultan type figure and that needs to be obvious, he doesn't have to have a beard if you think that will help to connect with our largely female driven customer base. He doesn't have to be old either so maybe a non bearded more youthful sultan might have female appeal. (or you can reinvent him as old and bearded if you have a great idea.) Our thinking is the current sultan looks about 60, we want one about 40'ish. The full beard in white ages him a lot maybe try facial hair but more modern less full. Colour wise we need a reddish-burgundy to be prominent for continuity but you can propose alternate secondary colours as you wish. FONT is GROTESQUE MT (light) and or GROTESQUE MT (ROMAN) You can sketch or rough draft for initial submissions if you wish, finished product needs to be in vector file format and we need a landscape and portrait version as well as a monotone version. I will provide heavy feedback to any designers as I know the brief is not crystal clear, we are looking for ideas so put your creative talent to work. ...and remember, have fun other wise it's just work.... cheers adam
