Anders T Bjorvand got their new logo design by running a design contest:
New logo wanted for Oase
Check out Anders T Bjorvand's Logo design contest…
Oase is a para-church ministry working mainly with spiritual renewal within the established churches of Norway. Oase´s identity and purpose is: "Transformed lives through the Holy Spirit" Oase´s vision is: "We want to see the Kingdom of God transform people, churches and societies." Oase achieves this mainly by hosting large renewal festivals, conferences, seminars and training. Mentors, inspirational resources etc is also a part of what we do. Even though we are a Norwegian ministry, we have extensive international partnerships. Some of these are: Denmark: http://danskoase.dk/ Sweden: http://www.oasrorelsen.se/ UK: http://www.new-wine.org/ USA: http://www.lutheranrenewal.org/ USA: http://www.ihop.org/ USA: http://www.ibethel.org/
Logo types to explore
Our name "Oase" is the Norwegian language word for "Oasis". Attached, you will find our old logo. It´s a symbol and our name/typography. Sometimes the word "Oase" has been shown below, and sometimes to the right. And often, the symbol appears alone. The symbol of the old logo is a plant/petals that form a cross, and that gets a drop of water from above - to replenish and renew. The plant can also be interpreted as a community and as a person standing, stretching both arms towards heaven. We want the logo contest to develop along TWO major lines. The first and preferred one is a transformation of our old logo. The second line we would like explored is a facelift of our old logo. Let me explain what I mean: Concept 1: Transformation of the old logo (our conceptual preference) In this logo, we would like the plant and the water from the original logo to be recognizable, but we don´t want the water to be on top of the plant. We want the water to be placed underneath the plant so that it can be sucked in from its roots instead of just a brief shower. We also want an arc or something similar added at the top. Something to place the heavens as a roof on top of our logo. A sun or something. Maybe an orange/reddish kind of arc - inspired by a part of the logo of this site: www.christianitytoday.no. This will symbolize the glory of God that frames our reality and that the plant stretches towards. It also symbolizes the blessings of God upon our lives. Also, concerning the plant: if the two petals at the top could subtly mimic flames as well as petals, it would be cool, as flames is a symbol of the Holy spirit. Maybe even a slight color gradient at the top of the petals where the "flame" approaches the red/orange arc on top of it? Concept 2: facelift of our old logo Keep the basic elements and basic conceptual placings of the elements of our old logo, but modernize them, freshen up the colors, come up with new typography. Also, feel inspired by our vision to see lives transformed. If this can be made manifest in the logo it would be great. If someone feels called (literally!) to try other approaches than these two guidelines, they are welcome to, but I can not guarantee that your time will be well spent. Any logo should work with JUST the symbol and with the combination of the symbol AND the word "Oase". The logo with both the symbol and our name should be the main logo alternative. The finished logo should be delivered as both high quality lossless PNG and as vector AI files. They should be in color, black/white and inverted black/white versions.
