I'm envisioning a logo consisting primarily of the company name "Gearing Up for Baby," accompanied by a single baby-related graphic (however the name should be more dominant than the graphic). For the text, I'd like some or all of it to be written in some distinctive font - could have a childlike feel (like font Kristen or Chalkboard), be a handwritten / cursive / stylized type font (e.g. I like Bellota Bold), or could be a more basic serif or sans serif (but still with a little bit of character - I like Museo Sans, Museo Slab, and Gill Sans, as examples). The text could either be solid colors, or sort of rainbow (but not bright primary colors rainbow - must feel softer). The text could either be laid out on one line, or (more probably - given the length) two lines (possibly with the word "Baby" more prominent). For the illustrated graphic, it could be a baby's face, an archetypal baby product like a stroller or baby rattle / mobile, or a childlike object like balloons, bunting/pennant flags (like in the "Sweet Born Creations" example above), or an animal (e.g. bird or elephant). I think right now I'm leaning board a bird or elephant or bunding/pennant flags. For the graphic style, see the example logos I've provided to get a sense of what I like. The overall feel of the logo should be classy, soft, cute, and whimsical. It should feel somewhat soft/feminine, as most of our customers will be Moms, but at the same time it can't be so girly that it scares off any Dads. The last sample logo file above (the one with the 3 logos that say "Gearing Up for Baby") show some variations I was toying with off one concept I created (with my totally ghetto graphics/Illustrator skills) - just to give you a sense for the direction I was thinking of. I'm also open to brand new concepts though. I do want something that will be easily adaptable to multiple situations (e.g. website bannerhead, Facebook/Twitter avatars, business cards), so feel free to use your judgement. 100% original designs only, please. I look forward to seeing your creations - thanks!
