Pujalia - Pujalia.com
In seven words, we are looking for a vectorial, simple, memorable, innocent, fun, unique and exclusive logo.
We want all the designers to have fun with this contest!
WE FEEL LIKE…
Vectorial: This is a must. No bitmaps. No photos. No fancy wordart logos.
Simple: Just one phrase, keep it simple.
Memorable: We think we have a great domain (in Spanish it’s great) and need a memorable logo so users can remember and recognize it.
Innocent: As the reverse auctioning model is complex to understand for the user, we need the logo to transmit innocence so users can trust us.
Fun: We are proud making people have fun and dream about getting incredible stuff for very little money.
Unique: Please, avoid look-a-likes and generic-logo-templates-customized.
Exclusive: Logo should suggest that this is an exclusive site, not a bargain site (although it isn't a luxury site).
(By the way, we would like a little web 2.0 look but not too obvious as it should last in time once the 2.0 thing ends).
MAKE IT UNIQUE…
We want to include a memorable and unique graphic to the right or left of the logo or even better, something unique or modified on the text itself like this (http://99designs.com/contests/9879/…ies/689453) or this (http://entries3.99static.com/contes…ies/275996).
Either way, think fun! We want this unique text-modification or graphic to be related with the fact that this is a social bidding website, where users can get great items by low prices. Some ideas are an ant or some ants carrying something really weight (as with just a small bid, you can win great items) or anything related with "less is more" and "the power of small things", but we are completely open to ideas related to the name or the site.
Please, let your mind fly here. (But don’t be eclectic :-).
BE CREATIVE WITH COLOR...
Submit variations. We love blue, yellow/orange, green and grey, but feel free to submit your proposals. Ideally, we will like one single color logo or a pair of a soft/strong colors so we can use soft color as base and strong color as call-to-action in our webpage. Feel free to use cool gradients for the web version of the logo if you like, but please, don’t use reflections.
KEEP IN MIND…
Pujalia is a mix of words in Spanish that means social bidding, bidding community or bidding land (puja is the Spanish word for bid).
Logo may include a short tag or no tag at all, it's up to you.
Logo must be suitable for web and printing in full colour, greyscale and B/W.
Logo must be suitable for dark and light backgrounds.
Logo must scale well, both, small and large so it can be used in web, print, t-shirts, etc.
Final work must be provided in PSD/Illustrator/Freehand format with all layers editable.
Work must be original and ALL INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS of the winning design will be transferred to us at the moment of payment.
(Fore more information on reverse bidding take a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unique_bid_auction or see some similar auction sites at http://www.bidster.com and http://www.playlimbo.com.au although we don't really love their logos.)
SOME LOGOS WE LIKE
Here you can find some logos we like http://www.slideshare.net/guest24cd…lia-logos/. Please, take this a a list of logos we like and not as logos we want to copy. We like specially the Snap logo (makes smart use of flash icon mixed with letter to explain what snap does). Of course, we also like the Amazon logo (again, smart use of icon mixed with text). Also, for the web version of the logo, it will be ok to use some gradients in some surfaces like Tractis or Zookooda do.
We don’t want any Spanish flag/flamenco/bull… The scope of this site is Spain and the whole world. (And, by the way, lots of Spaniards hate bullfighting and flamenco).
We don’t want to split the name in two parts (i.e. PujaLia).
We don't want too many colors and/or fonts.
We don't want anything too generic or look-a-like.
We don't want bitmap/wordart/3D logos.
We don't want overly complex logos, please, keep it simple.
