While there were many good designs, this one resonated with me the second I saw it. The designer worked with me to refine the piece into something that worked for my purposes. Great design! Would work with PORT.design (and several of the other submitters) again in a heartbeat.
- Metric documentary
Fantastic work--professional and creative.
How Metric documentary started their logo design journey
Who are you known as?
None is required, but it used, it should be "Mile behind"
What’s your company slogan?
The complete documentary name is "More than a mile behind: America and the metric system. It would be fine to include "More than a mile behind."or "Mile behind". The actual words themselves do not need to be used as long as the concept of America falling behind with the metric system is included.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
This logo will be used as initial branding for an independent documentary on what became of the metric system in the United States. Initially, it will be used on my blog, twitter feed, Facebook, etc. I may eventually need the designer to work on additional projects for the piece such as posters.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
Logo types to explore

A little background: The United States passed it's first metric law in 1866. However, after several pushes (including legislation in 1975) most Americans still don't know the metric system. The documentary (More than a mile behind: America and the metric system [the subhead might change but "More than a mile behind" and "Mile behind" will not]) will explore U.S. history of this subject, the current state of affairs, and what it might take for the US to join with the rest of the 95% of the metric-using world. I will endeavor to give the winning designer credit where it is practical to do so.
