Who are you known as?
Kidney Cancer Research Alliance
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
The Kidney Cancer Research Alliance is a grassroots organization of patients, caregivers, doctors and medical researchers dedicated to raising money to provide seed funding for kidney cancer research. Our board is a diverse group made up of patients, caregivers, and world renowned renal cell oncologists who came together to establish this organization.
Our target audience is the patient community and people who have been impacted by a kidney cancer diagnosis. Over time it will expand to the broader philanthropic community including family and corporate foundations.
Most of our outreach will be done through the web, so it's important that our logo be versatile for multiple sizes and applications.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
Community & Non-Profit

Our name is Kidney Cancer Research Alliance but our web address is KCcure. We're open to designs that incorporate either, both or none. Logos using KCRA are not preferable due to the fact that it's similar to existing TV and radio stations.
Here are some words that describe the essence of our organization: Alliance, Grassroots, Research, Seed Funding, Advancement, Inclusivity, Organic.
We want our brand to convey warmth and compassion for the patient community but at the same time show our commitment to cutting edge scientific research.
The color ribbon for kidney cancer is sometimes green and sometimes orange. while there can be variation in the shade, both colors are on the darker side (no lime green or peachy oranges). Our logo must incorporate both colors to symbolize that we're an alliance.
Our sole dedication is research funding. Currently, no organization exists to provide scientific research grants purely for kidney cancer. The concept of research should be evident in the overall design.
We're a grassroots organization and we're providing seed funding for research - we're interesting in exploring those concepts in our design.
One of the pictures attached below was drawn by a seven year old girl who lost her dad to kidney cancer when she was four - his cancer was likely genetic and she could be at risk but the research hasn't been done to know for sure. Her picture shows a seed growing into a tree. As a board, we love the message in that picture.
