hilah got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Help a tech and artisan home decor hybrid create a uniquely sophisticated yet playful brand

The company is essentially a personalized home decor company with the mission of making everyone's house their home. It would be an online platform that offers approachable, automated decor styling as a service as well as curated artisan product all in one place, like if Stitch Fix and Etsy had a baby for the home decor world. Our target audience is someone who cares what their apartment/home looks like, but doesn’t want to (or can’t) pay for an interior designer. They are young, socially aware and care about style. They have busy lives and are on a tight budget. They are both men and women.
We want the logo/aesthetic to feel elevated but approachable, like you'd trust us with your home decor but you're not intimated. Some brand personality traits we landed on were 1) Approachable/human 2) Quirky/fun/unique/playful/funky (not sure which one best works yet, but you get the idea) 3) Passionate 4) Beautiful. We want to convey that interior design historically is: Stuffy Intimidating Expensive Slow and laborious Exhausting but we are: Cohesive Beautiful Well styled Approachable Easy to use Fast Customer satisfaction Well-sourced We want to be gender neutral and convey credibility in this space. We want color (not just black and white), but a sophisticated color palette. We believe our visuals/feed will be key to our success and credibility as well. Given that we will likely host inventory and ship it, we want to have a logo that translates physically, e.g. in tags, or on stamps, or in packaging.
