Protect Idaho's Drinking Water...At the Source!
This contest is on behalf of the Idaho Source Water Collaborative (the Collaborative). The Collaborative consists of various local, state, federal and nonprofit organizations that play a role in protecting Idaho’s drinking water sources (source water). Members of the collaborative have an interest in protecting drinking water sources because all communities depend on clean drinking water supplies to protect public health, environmental quality, economic development public finance and quality of life. The Collaborative would like a logo to use to market/raise awareness about source water (i.e. where drinking water comes from) and source water protection. This logo will be used on a website (along with other educational material) which will serve as a clearinghouse of information to a variety of audiences (e.g. public water systems, local governments, resource managers, businesses, and the general public).
Logo types to explore
Source water is drinking water prior to reaching the drinking water system or treatment. Source water is the ground water (aquifers), surface water (lakes, rivers, streams), and springs used to supply a community with drinking water. Source water protection is a mostly voluntary effort conducted by local governments, businesses, homeowners, etc. to prevent contaminants from reaching the drinking water source. Source water protection is economical because it is costly to clean up contaminated drinking water, it is also important for human and environmental health.
