Homeless Alliance
The Homeless Alliance is a nonprofit organization in Oklahoma City whose mission is to rally the community to end homelessness. The organization works to end long-term homelessness in Oklahoma City by building the capacity of the community through collaboration with other agencies, identifying and filling gaps in homeless services, bringing nationally-recognized best practices to the community, and working to build a system that is more efficient, rationale, and caring.
The Homeless Alliance operates several housing programs for families with children, coordinates a community effort to house veterans and people who are chronically homeless, operates the IT infrastructure used by homeless-serving agencies in central Oklahoma, and publishes The Curbside Chronicle, a magazine that provides a voice and legitimate source of income for people who are homeless. The Homeless Alliance owns and operates the Westtown Homeless Resource Campus which includes a Resource Center with offices for multiple nonprofit and government agencies, a housing complex, and a Day Shelter that serves an average of 300 people each day. The Day Shelter serves breakfast and lunch, provides showers, offers access to computers, phones, and mail, and provides access to needed services including mental and physical healthcare, budgeting assistance, legal support, and multiple classes and programs. For those people who can’t go to a homeless shelter because they have a companion animal from which they will not be parted, the Day Shelter removes that barrier by offering a kennel, complete with pet food and access to veterinary services, so that people with pets aren’t shut out of the system of care.
We are an innovative organization in our community seen as a subject matter expert working to address a complex problem.
Our target audience is includes donors, volunteers, community leaders, and people who are experiencing homelessness.
Our mission statement is Rallying our community to end homelessness. The slogan we have been using (NOT to be included in the logo) is "Together, we can end homelessness."
We have had the same logo since we were founded in 2004. It is bad and looks outdated, however, we do have some brand equity. We don't want to loose that completely. Initially, we discussed just doing a logo "refresh;" doing a new, updated logo that incorporates some elements of the old logo. We are not completely opposed to going an entirely new direction, but lean toward some element of familiarity. I think we would definitely like to keep orange and blue, although we are open to adjusting the hue of the colors (especially the orange as we want it to look more orange than red - we don't want red and in some mediums our logo comes across that way).
I have included a copy of our logo and a few pics of our campus.
If you want to reference any of our online info, I wouldn't look at our website (it's outdated), but our Facebook and Instagram pages are good Homeless Alliance and Curbside Chronicle on Facebook and Homeless Alliance and Curbside OKC on Instagram.
