The logo needs to look unique, clever, and integrated. The logo must also have a high level of detail and needs to be more than text and an icon. Instead, it should combine visual elements with the brand name itself in a way that is distinct and memorable. Please refer to the attached referenced logos, as well as the description of what we like in each of them, to get a sense of the type of detail and combination of visual elements we are looking for.
This logo needs to have a medical and journalistic theme, not a marijuana/druggy theme. CBD is a medicinal compound used to treat health conditions, and new medical uses of CBD are being discovered at an increasing pace. We want the logo to incorporate these themes, and give a sense of excitement about the potential that CBD has to help people.
The word "The" should be a minimal focus within the logo. For all intents and purposes, we want to logo/brand name to be "CBD Insider", but the official name is "The CBD Insider"
While our target audience will be anyone over the age of 21, we want the logo to have a particular appeal to the 40+ crowd. Since many of them grew up in a world where CBD was not legal, we want our brand to create a sense of trust, authority, and legitimacy -- without being overly formal or "stuffy".
Explicit imagery of cannabis, marijuana leaves, etc. should not be in the logo.
Creative use of negative space, and incorporating the lettering/text into the design and iconography is preferred, but make sure that the brand name is still easy to read.
Small details that add depth are strongly preferred if possible, but this does not necessarily need to be 3D shapes.
The logo will be for an online publication, so logos that have some resemblance to a magazine or newspaper logo are welcome.
