MODERN SURVIVAL (Optional, should work independent of slogan)
Games & Recreational
Wodan sells rugged outdoors equipment to people all over the world with an emphasis on fire lighting & utility items. We plan to branch out into backpacks and other soft goods (textiles, rucksacks, utility pouches etc in the long run) My market includes backpackers, campers, hunters, adventure seekers, hikers, woodsmen, and bushcrafters. My ideal customer is someone who appreciates rugged, high quality equipment to enhance their experience as they enjoy the outdoors.
I have included a slogan but would like the logo to be able to work independent of it when needed. My finalized preferences are: - A balanced logo that has a somewhat unified aspect ratio (same height and width, within reason there is some room for flexibility) - Abstract runic influence that cleverly incorporates fire symbolism or the suggestion of fire. - A degree of consistency in the line weighting of the logo & word mark - Logo 'use' flexibility, so that it can be used in a variety of layouts depending on context i.e. above the word mark, to the left of the word mark and independent of the word mark. This will be explored properly in the final round, but it is something to keep in mind - Muted colours (happy for colours to be used in variations) - 2D logos (no 3D shading etc) - Pictorial marks (or logo symbols) & Abstract logo marks - no obvious Monograms - Clean, easy to read fonts (there can still be added details & visual interest to them though) No 'W' and monogram type logos unless it is nuanced or clever in it's implementation as these tend to come off a little too generic and end up looking like car company badges. This is not to say I am against it being worked into the design organically but just decorated versions of a 'W' are not really what I am looking for. No 'Odin' or 'Viking' face type logos as these tend to be a little too generic and indistinguishable from one to the next and I don't think they will be able to achieve the look I want, some would be far too intricate at smaller sizes for products and print media. Name Origins: Wodan was an ancient Germanic sky god. Wodan was known as Woden or Wotan to the Saxons and later Odin to the Norse. Wodan was also the god of war and the hunt. Note: All project brief updates and refinements are messaged directly to participating designers as they are added.

I loved that the design incorporated all the different elements of our branding in a stylish way that we felt was very representative of us. Was very collaborative and easy to work with.
