Design a logo & symbol for Alterant, a new melodic metal band

Alterant

Alterant is a melodic metal project/band with a debut album coming out later in 2018. The style of music has elements and influences from bands like Periphery, Avenged Sevenfold, As I Lay Dying, Wovenwar and Trivium. Heavy riffs and aggressive vocals with melodic hooks and memorable melodies.

I'm looking for a logo that incorporates the band name (Alterant) but also has a symbol, like an abstract "A" or "Δ" (delta, for change, since alterant means causing or producing alteration/change). Ideally I'd be able to use the two elements (the symbol and the word) separately, but they should look good together as well. I know there are a zillion "A" logo symbols out there, so how about another? :) The symbol should be something that immediately identifies the band in the absence of the text and is memorable and powerful, but not overly complicated - something that a teenage fan of the band would (and could) doodle on their notebook. Or something that an adult superfan might get tattooed on their body haha.

The designs and logos I like for this sort of thing are modern/futuristic, simple, elegant, geometric, etc. The logo/name would typically appear on a black background, so a simple color palette of white-on-black or maybe up to a few grays would be good. In your submissions, please just use a black background - no background images.
