Entertainment & The Arts
This is for a casino site, but a new concept crossover with a built in adventure / runner game through which players progress over their lifetime as customers. We want to remove ourselves from traditional casino branding and elements - no chips / cards / anything like that, just a wordmark or similar. The stress is on the game not the gambling, however as this also a gambling site the result should be suitable for and geared towards adults. Please carefully read the comments below for further guidance.
We have gone through a logo sourcing process before this and nothing we liked came back, probably due to very open specifications. This time we're trying to be more specific. Asvla is a Georgian word meaning 'to ascend' or 'go up' and the inbuilt retention game is a mountain which players ascend as they progress through the site. We are also using this brand for international players without translation, with the implication that it is the name of the mythical location it is set in (or maybe of the mountain itself). The shape of the brand letters with this concept naturally lends itself to certain ideas - making mountains or arrows from the As etc. We had the same thoughts initially, but we recommend caution with this approach - last time everything we got back like this made us look like a camping equipment shop. If you have a great idea in this vein and think it will work please go ahead and submit it, we're open to anything, but our suspicion is that any effects like these should be subtle if they are even needed at all, it may be that a simple wordmark is best. Another important consideration is the aesthetic of our target market, which is Georgia (the country) and on the most part its capital. Tbilisi is impossible to put into words but has a completely unique character. I suggest spending a few minutes on google image search to get a feel for its soul and style before starting - try looking for things like its street fashion, techno scene, brutalist architecture etc. I'm not sure how much that will help, but I think it will help some. Our logo should not be too clean or corporate feeling. It needs to look at home in multiple venues, from a TV spot to a sticker in an underpass or bar. We're not attached to using black / white / grey, but our website does have a day and night mode and we will have to fit this logo around that - actually we'll adjust the final site colouring based on the logo we select here. I'll probably contact the best submission to add a light on dark or dark on light version (if one is missing) when we make a decision. Lastly after all that, we may not need a new logo at all. Despite receiving many submissions from another service, so far we prefer this child's MS paint attempt we made ourselves, attached. If you think all this needs is a touch up and a high res render then please go ahead and do just that - we'll be selecting the best logo not the one the most time was spent on. Thanks and good luck! Any questions please ask.
