How Mark Fruhling started their logo design journey
I am in search of the right designer to help me launch the first website dedicated to helping friends have fun by talking smack and insulting each other. The logo should be simple, but creative and embody the spirit of having fun with your friends. This website should be responsible for tons of laughs between friends and the logo should remind people how much fun it is to use the website. I will be posting a contest to design the website also, but I thought that the logo should be decided on first. So the top 5 designs will have first chance at the website design, which is only a few pages. I will also be posting a contest for creative and fun icons for the members to send to each other.
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
The website is in beta and is already getting decent traffic. There are very few pages and surfing around the site should be pretty simple. The website has the persistence of a posting board...the last 500 messages will always be there, and it also has the immediateness of a chat client...new messages appear within seconds. The public pages are for people to vent, ala "Rants and Raves" on craigslist, but the private pages are for groups of friends to interact and have fun messaging each other. The design should support a feeling of a community promoting fun messages between friends, kind of like the facebook funwall without having to sign up for facebook. There is also an idea of "attitude" with the messaging that is different from anything out there.
I need a great logo and creative ideas for a possible mascot or symbol for the idea of shit talking with your friends and having a great time. Use your imagination and style, I want this to be a fun site and that starts with the designer having fun. I have a tentative tagline or "Create, Invite, Embarrass", but everything is still open for your input.
I would love to find someone who shares my vision and I can work with long term. I plan on spending heavily for the creatives of this site.
